Possible new firmware update for VG10??
From sonyalpharumors.com website:
(SR5) Updated: Firmware update document for NEX leaked! “SilentMike” (a member of the German SystemKameraForum) seems to have found a document (on Sony’s websites???) that describes the new NEX firmware upgrade features. It will bring new art filters like (pop-art, toy-effect, retro-style,red-only filter, High-Key and more). And there is also a new feature that enhances the outline of in-focus ranges with a specific color. UPDATE: This is the english version of the manual (http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/AE1T100111.pdf) Via SystemKameraForum sonyalpharumors | Blog | Categories | Rumors The interesting feature is focus 'peaking'. |

Re: Possible new firmware update for VG10??
jvc has offered this function for years.
It seems like color peaking would be nice. But, when you zoom back and everything is in focus -- the entire image has colored outlines! If the image is forced to B&W the result is ugly. If the image is in color, then the color image is filled with all objects outlined in color. Focus assist is far nicer since you see the actual color details magnified. more cute art looks! not what one needs or wants.

Peaking, however, is better than no focusing aid!
