FMU128 and 60P?
Does anyone know if the Sony Flash memory unit FMU128 will record 1080 60P? On the specs it seems to do 24Mb, which is 1080 30P.

I have two of them and I record exclusively in 60P lately. I have had no problems with them at all.

Thank you. I will feel better having backup recording when needed and also a longer record time than 64GB cards when needed.

David,
Thanks for the heads up on the price drop. Maybe they are trying to empty a warehouse full of them for the stupid price of $650.00. Here is the B&H link for $300.00 off of that. Sony HXR-FMU128 Flash Memory Unit HXR-FMU128 B&H Photo Video Steve

Re: FMU128 and 60P?
Yeah I thought the original price was crazy. I looked at it in the past but no way was going to pay that. I understand the importance of a backup. I still feel the current price is high, but reasonable and worth it.
I wish it had the option to record to another Codec, such as XAVC, ProRes or something with 4:2:2 so I could ditch my external recorder for post-color critical work. Nonetheless, the longer record time and backup option alone are worth something :) |

Re: FMU128 and 60P?
I just ordered one. Thanks for posting about the price! I seem to remember there was a way to set the two record buttons so that you could record to SD or to the FMU or something. Like you could choose both or just one?

Re: FMU128 and 60P?
Hey Steve,
You can't record in different formats. You can have both cards record simultaneously or you can assign the two record buttons to fire one card each so you are not recording to both cards every time unless you want to. Steve
