Gain to f-stop comparrison

As anyone ever done a comparrison between gain and iris? Meaning ex" 1 stop=6 db of gain or something like that.

No need to do a comparison. +6db = +1 fstop = 2x ISO.

Cool so if I get a straight 2.8 lens I will get to drop my gain by at least 6 db maybe 9 from 21 to 12 good . thanks
