Does adapter support 64GB CF CARD? (s270 camera)
Hello, I have got Sony hvr s270 camcorder and HVR-MRC1 with 16 GB CF card which makes 1 hour of recording.
I need to buy larger card, 32 GB or 64 GB. Here comes question: Does camera and HVR-MRC1 adapter support 64 GB card, 400x? Thanks, best regards. Video Jpl (Video Jpl) |

I found link of adapter MRC1.
Look at accessories, where you can find 64GB CF CARD: Sony HVR-MRC1 Memory Recording Unit in Shop By Brand Sony at Unique Photo Do you think that 64gb CF card really works with MRC1 adapter? Thanks, Primoz Lazar |

I use 64 GB Transcend and 64 GB Sandisk CF cards in my MIRC1 mounted in a Z5 and mounted on a Panasonic DVX100B with no problem. Would guess they would work equally well in the 270. B&H carries the cards.

Re: Does adapter support 64GB CF CARD? (s270 camera)
One more question.
If I give CF adapter with SD HC or SD XC card in MRC1 adapter, does it work? How compatible are SD HC/XC cards with CF Adapters, because SD cards are much more cheaper than CF cards. Anybody uses adapter like this? CF adapter: (SDXC SDHC SD MMC to Type II CF CompactFlash Adapter Connector 64GB Extreme UK | eBay). Thanks fo reply. PL |

There is an explanation here:
http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/sony-har...b-cf-card.html Depending on firmware on the recorder, it DOES support 64GB cards

Re: Does adapter support 64GB CF CARD? (s270 camera)
Hello, one more question.
So I bought 2 64 gb CF cards. They were working well but suddenly one of them stopped working. MRC 1 gives an error and can not recognize CF card. Later I formated second CF card and it stopped working too. MRC 1 gives an error and says i have to format card. But nothing happens, whatever I do. Card are working on copmuter with card reader well, just MRC 1 cannot recognize them. Have you and idea what can be wrong? Any sollution? Best regards, thanks. PL |

Which cards are they? Cheap off-brand cards often fail or aren't fast enough. I have had good luck with SanDisk and horrible luck with Kingstons. Transcends were okay. Admittedly I never tried to go above 32GB.

Re: Does adapter support 64GB CF CARD? (s270 camera)
Thanks for reply. I made it.
There was problem formatin 64 gb card with MRC1, it does not support it perfectly. So I formated card again with EPM.exe program on my comuputer. Now card works again well in MRC1 but I just cant format it with MRC. I have to use function ALL CLIPS delete and it is OK. Thanks anyway. Best regards PL |
