Tips & Trade Secrets

Hi guys,

I've made a little page called 'Tips & Trade Secrets' on my web site.

It's here JONATHAN RICHARDS TV Tips & Trade Secrets

Mostly it's about my experiences of shooting with the Z7 as a long gunner.

I'd appreciate some feedback to make sure that it's actually useful to people!

Thanks a lot.

Jonathan

Very Useful...

Great job, a lot of sense et I've really appreciated your share... Like you I mainly work in solo and do have the same problems to solve.
Just one thing, you don't mention the "Picture Profile", which is for me a good and easy way to enhance picture depending on the result you expect. Do you use them?
Thanks.

Nice one Jonathan! The hand-holding idea was a new one on me, as was the two radio mics into one XLR. As a lone gunner myself I can appreciate all you have to say.

Thanks guys. Glad you got something out of it.

Took ages to do!

I never use picture profile because I grade in FCP to get the look I'm after.

small point. In 'Format' you say: 'It’s still amazes me that the camera can record such stunning images onto a Mini DV tape.' But I know what you mean. Stunning images onto tape that costs less than £1 a go.

Absolutely.

I do use MiniDV tapes though at £1.50 a pop.
