Dont know about a firmware update but I have had my Z7 for 5 months now and the autofocus is fine, I did the backplane set-up and turned off macro but I feel that as the camera has been used it is better now than when new and I dont notice any searching even in low light.
Have a look t some of the clips on my pub web site and you will see some very low light shot stuff in the pub and there is no searching at all:www.theblackhorsebar.co.uk

Oh and the rolling shutter that plagues the EX1 CMOS . . not there in the Z7 unless you put the strobe or flash right up in the lens pratically and even then not 30 to 70 frames of wobbling destruction . . only 7 total AND hard to identify in regular play from just a pure flash. Thank you Sony for making this camera. I always liked Sony but had been a loyal fan of Panasonic with DVX100B and HVX200A but now it's the Z7U - AND - ME :o) |
