Sony HVR S270E and flash card recording unit
Am I alone in thinking that the instructions given for the flash card recording unit supplied with this camera are lacking in detail, and that the display on the unit is almost impossible to see in bright light. (for menu settings)

Agreed
Barry,
You're right on both counts, of course. The screen is difficult to see, the menu is confusing & the manual is meager. I am still trying to determine the best way to shoot 1080i on tape while recording in DV on the Compact Flash. But despite all that, I managed to get it to work first time out, transferred the video to the PC, and all was well. It's actually a minor miracle in that I recorded a one hour performance & the CF unit broke it into three 4 GB files ... which strung together seamlessly without missing a frame. If there is anything specific, I'll do my best to answer it. Paul |

I will get back to you when I get to try the camera in action, I have only played with it so far.
