NLE compatibility
I'm really interested in this camera, but haven't seen much regarding compatibility. Has anyone heard anything about if the HDV used in the Z7/Z270 will work with existing NLE's? More specifically FCP.
Can't wait to see some actual images from this cam. |

Jay, what goes down to tape is 1080 HDV, the same 25mbps codec Sony has been using all along. The progressive is native this time around unlike the HVRV1 which uses segmented frames. When capturing to the CF card, its the M2T format stream that is recorded.
Not sure what the current version of FCP does with that M2T file though. |

M2T files can be converted to QT format during transfer. 5x or 6x faster than realtime !! It is just "re-wrapping". The original quality is perfectly kept. Sony said the plug-in is scheduled to be released in Feb.(soon, I hope) 24 PsF taken by V1U or new camcorders is converted to ProRes422 23.98P by this plug-in.
