sony z5u recording to solid state disk
can my z5u record to a ssd? If so how.

sure - check out any number of devices - atmos ninja comes to mind, etc., but what's wrong with sony's mcrk1 cf recorder?

nothing is wrong with the unit in fact I own one. just thinking can the HDMI out port be used to capture the signal onto a ssd? if it can a high capacity more stable ssd might be the way to go vs the 64gb that are starting to stack up

i gather, though i've no experience, that the atmos will record mov and dnxhd. there's also a black magic unit that'll record bm's codecs.
at one stage i had similar thoughts, but reckoned that the sony cf recorder was easy, convenient and much less of a hassle than hanging some proprietary gizmo off / on the camera....
