What other cams do you have..

and, what is it you like about your Z5?

Trying to spice it up around here, plus see what features others like about their cams. I have a HV30 and a new XA10 (Canon). I love the formfactor of the Z5, the weight and ease of reaching features. I really wish I could put the LCD from the XA10 on it.

What about you?

Re: What other cams do you have..

well, coming from broadcast betasp to a sony vx1000 (?) many years ago all i can say is i love digital, full stop ;-)

i've worked my way through most digital cameras (with the exception of jvc), but bearing in mind i HAVE to have tape since i shoot for clients who demand it (a national broadcaster and a major client of 5 years), even though i also use a cf recorder on camera, has severely limited my choice in recent years.

that said i'd still prefer to shoot tape AND card at the same time, i love the instant archiving (can't remember when i last looked at a tape, even though i ALWAYS shoot to tape as well as card).

ad for the z5, well what can i say that hasn't been said - it's great ergonomically, love the 20x zoom, and at wa it's still very usable. low light has never really been a problem since my work is usually doco style, or situations where i'm in control so i can arrange lighting etc.,

i have to admit to NEVER using any of the built in fx, and to using the camera's auto functions more and more (once i got to trust them!).

i've still got my v1p that i had prior to the z5. it's only advantage is the large lcd, but since i rarely shoot using an lcd (if i need to check shots i prefer a proper monitor), it's no big deal.

very happy z5 vegemite....
