HDMI Capture

Good afternoon,

I want to capture via HDMI via the intensity pro shuttle:

I have a vaio F series laptop with usb 3.0 running an i7 quad 2.9 ghrtz

I have Neoscene to capture into cineform codec.

I was wondering if I have to change any of the settings in the camera to capture through or to the computer.

how does one capture with out a tape in the camera.

Oh yea, I have the fx 1000, I read elswhere a long time back of someone doing this with the 1000, darned if I can find the post.

Would appreciate any help here.

My computer does not reead a camera at all at this point with eith Vegas or Neoscene.

Obviously I am missing something.

Re: HDMI Capture

How about BM's capture utility, does it see the camera?

That would be a first step.

For me, I just the cam and an Intensity Pro (not shuttle), and the cam shows up in the BM utility. I've never looked for it in Vegas

Re: HDMI Capture

Sorry, don't mean to be cryptic.

BM = Blackmagic.

I just looked. The capture utility is called "Blackmagic Media Express".

I should think getting it working with BM's own software would be the best first step.

Just hooked up everything for fun. I was reminded that I have to have the correct source (HDMI video & audio) selected in the BM control panel, and, the correct frame size and rate needs to be selected in the Media Express prefs (HD 1080i 59.94), with no input processing. Otherwise, all I see is a black screen.

Those are the selections for my setup, a Sony HVR-V1 into the Blackmagic Intensity Pro via HDMI.

I also just tried capture from Vegas. V10c sees my card, but doesn't see anything but black from it. I think I've been through all the settings...

I've been successful with capture using BM Media Express and Cineform HDLink (an older product).

Re: HDMI Capture

Good afternoon,

thought I would follow up on this:

I purchased the intensity pro shuttle. I have a new 2.9ghtz quad laptop to run it through.
try as I may I could not make the combination work at all.

After alot of emails and search I found out the shuttle seems to be motherboard sensitive.

BM was so slow getting back to me that I finally just sent the stuff back and will be considering a nano or ninja.
