Z5 "Super Zoom"
I just discovered something quite by accident this morning . First off - I'm shooting the Z5 with the MRC-1 in cache mode.
I was filming a woodpecker at full optical zoom, then decided to go to the digital extender. I shot for a minute or two then paused. While in pause I added the expanded focus. So , I'm at full 20x plus digital extender @ 1.5x and expanded focus @ 2.0x. When I press record the expanded focus is disabled as usual - nothing abnormal...... but remember I'm in "Cache" mode. I reviewed the footage and confirmed my guess - the cache was recorded as seen in the viewfinder with BOTH the Dig. Ext AND the Exp. Focus engaged ! While this may not be an earth shattering event and may not be super clear footage - It's a neat trick that I will use again ! Great for my wildlife filming. Try It ! |
