computer conection issue

good afternoon,

Well so far all has been well with my new fx 1000.

However, my computer is not recognizing my camcorder!!!

I do not even hear the opbigatory beep as it connects to the computer.

No disc came with the camera so I assumed it was plug and play.

the instructions seem rather confusing actually. in hdv in the i linc on actually means off??

what Might I be missing?

Oh yea I use neo scene, but I am pretty sure it is a computer issue!!!

This is almost always due to a mismatch in your NLE settings and your cam. The i.LINK icon in the VF only means the FW is active; if i.LINK CONV is off it will also read DV OUT rather than HDV OUT or HDV IN.

But yes, make sure if you have an HDV project set up in your editor, you have i.LINK CONV turned OFF (that's the default anyway).

Adam,

thanks,

I turned ilinc off and put it on auto, but also noted you must do this without the ilinc plugged into the camera.

all is well as it should be!

Actually, you should have VCR HDV/DV on HDV at all times. AUTO can sometimes be glitchy.

Z5U and HC62...

I have both Z5U and HC-62 and have trouble connecting them to my iMac...
I followed the instructions online and in the manual and from what I see in these and Apple's forums; all to no avail...

I am thinking that SnowLeopard may be the problem...

Can anyone concur? thoughts?
