HDV/DV Live Switching
Hi All,
I recently bought a Z5. I have two pd 170's. I am going to shoot an event in a few days. The problem is that I will be using a Edirol LVS Switcher (analog). I will probably run s-video from my pd 170s. What is the best way (highest quality) to send an analog signal out of the Z5 into the Edirol Switcher? The switcher has an s-video and bnc connectors for inputs. Any help will be appreciated. Sincerely, Al Rodgers |

Does the Edirol have component inputs? Component is always the best. The Z5 comes with a component break-out lead. Make sure that you go into the settings menu and set the component output to 480i (or 576i depending!) instead of 1080. You will also need to get three RCA/phono to BNC adapters.
If the BNC's are composite, the S-video is best - but I am not sure that S-video can be output from the Z5, at which point you are back to composite. |
