Avoiding Sound Distortion?

Just wondered if anyone has filmed a loud music band with the Z5 and what sound setting was used and how good was the audio recording as on the PD170 there was an attenuation switch for the audio but the Z5 only seems to have a setting in the menu for audio limiter surely this just prevents clipping of the sound.

Phil, I still have yet to shoot in what is my typical environment, which is very loud. I also had a PD-170 and wasn't sure how it would be without the attenuator. I used the Z5 at a party which wasn't as loud as normal but I set the trim to -6db and that sounded pretty good. You can always buy an attenuator for your mic if that doesn't work.
