Z5P Test Video
Hi Folks, here is a simple test video I made for the Z5P. There are comparisons with EX1 and FX1e. It is still converting and should be ready in a while. Feel free to advice me what else u like to see for future reviews.

Sean, that is one awesome video, very well done! FX1 holds up really well in decent lighting.

Why did you leave the indoor white balance setting on when you were outside? Good video the EX1 is one step ahead but the Z5 is not far behind |

Robert, I noticed that too but I decided the video got it's point across as it is.

Nice test, but I'm assuming the 'indoor preset' for outdoor shots with the Z5 was an error. Impressions of quality can be erroneously impacted by that. Seeing beyond this, the Z5 is surely one nice camera. If a similar test could be reshot with proper WB, that would be great. I'd be curious to see native clips that demonstrate the difference in the camera's ability to capture fine detail.
I'm also curious what you used to shoot the "Joko & Frida" video? Thanks for the effort! |

Yes Robert and Ken, it was my mistake to have the default AWB set to indoor. I thought it was a camera problem but I only managed to find out the problem when it was time to return the camera so I could only do a short scene of the temple with the correct settings.
I mentioned the mistake in the magazine review and under the comment in VIMEO. Hope that no one gets the wrong impression! Z5's low light cap is really amazing thou. Its so close to EX1 even when I viewed them under the video scope. In conclusion, I think this is one heck of a great cam. I did not touch the picture profiles at all to get what you see in the video. The only thing I dislike is the price position. I would have loved to get a Z7 for the same candle and UV test. |
