FX1 Focus
I notice on my FX1 that using auto focus when I go full telephoto the focus is mostly out and won't focus in. If I zoom back a little it will focus in. I have a VX2000 which is fine in this regard. Has anyone else got this problem or do I have a camera problem?

I have both cameras, but haven't noticed any significant difference in the two cameras with respect to auto focus. I do notice that in telephoto mode, both cameras take longer to focus, in auto mode, and will hunt a bit, but I think that is to be expected, given the narrower field of view and the potential for more to focus on. I have use a teleextender on the FX1, and with zoom all the up the telephoto range, and the extender on, it can achieve critical focus. Frankly, I am not finding myself setting either camera on autofocus to any great extent now, and I am relying more on manual focus most of the time. When you manual focus, does it it achieve critical focus at the telephoto end. Of course, soft focus is much more pronounced when viewing HDV, so you should be comparing SD outputs.
