Z1 XLR or Internal Mic but not Both?
I've gone through all the menus and the manual, am I correct in assuming that I can select either the internal mic or the external XLRs but not both? Can't I have the internal mic on Ch 1 and one of the XLRs on Ch 2?
Please tell me I'm overlooking something. Thanks, Joe

Joe, you're not missing anything.
I've tried to do this too, and there is no way of getting both the built mic and an XLR mic to work simultaneously. |

That's right, the built-in mic is a stereo mic and therefore requires two channels, leaving no other channels available for additional mics. It's the same situation with the Canon XH series and a number of other camcorders as well.

Yep, the Sony PDX-10 is also like this... you have to choose either the XLR or the built-in mike, but not both.
