CineFrame & Progressive Scan - can they play together?
Sony's Cine Frame 30 on the Z1 emulates the 30P look on 60i; The V1 shoots true progressive scan at 30P. What happens later in FCP? Will footage cut together nicely - even though it's interlace vs. progressive?
I've got a multi camera concert shoot with four Z1 cameras and one V1 camera. I want the 30p look which I have gotten in the past on multi camera Z1 shoots. Is the V1 the fly in the ointment? Too late to ditch the V1 - Should I set all cameras to 1080i and achieve the 30p look in FCP (is that possible?) thanks, chris li/ wash. dc area |

I have yet to use the V1U, but think as long as you edit in 60i you should be fine. Both Cineframe30 and 30p from the V1u are nested in a 60i HDV stream. To my knowledge you can edit the 30p from the V1U as 60i.
I would think with some minor image tweaking (either in camera or in post) it should work. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. |

I've been wondering this too - but I live in PAL world, where I may want to combine Cineframe 25 from the Z1 and 25p from the V1. Are both the 25p in the V1 and the C25 on the Z1 nestled in the 60i stream or the 50i stream? I know it makes more sense to be in the 50i stream but I haven't a clue really...
