Hot shoe replacement??

Hello,

I have an FX1 and somehow after a shoot my hotshoe mount is no longer there.. I just have the threaded hole.. I tried going to my local authorized Sony Camera shop, but for some reason they could not come up with a replacement.. Any suggestions for a replacement?? I have not yet tried a nationel Sony #, .. Maybe a third party replacmentout there??? Anything like that out there??

Thanks,
Mike M.

I found it here on the Sony Parts website:

http://servicesales.sel.sony.com/web...searchText=fx1

If the long link doesn't work, go to:

http://servicesales.sel.sony.com/

search for "FX1" at the top right, then click on the fifth result:

" HDRFX1 HIGH DEFINITION CAMCORDER "

You'll see a list of available parts, one of which is the shoe mount. 77 bucks! Ouch!

Hope this helps,
Vito

I have the same problem, but I'll be damned if I'm paying that much for it. There's a thread here where someone asked about connecting a light and mic to the FX1 and I remember there were a couple of links where there was replacements at a much lower price.

This is the only thing that look like it will work. I ordered it, I will report on it when it arrives.

Looks like you may be able to remove that screw and take the shoe off the mount, and then replace the screw with the same size that the sony has to attach it.

I removed the mount and screwed the bracket directly into the female part of the camera with the screw that came with it.

BTW, it's not as big as it seems on the picture. It looks a 5 point buck antler on the picture.

I just got it yesterday and made the modifications, but yes, it seems like it's exactly what I needed.
