Manual Focus.. not working
So I finally got an fx1 (used but in very nice condition) and so far I love the camera. Picture is unreal and the adjustments are amazing. However I can't seem to get the manual focus to work properly. I switch the setting from auto to manual focus and when I turn the focus ring, nothing happens. Is there some setting that would lock the focus? I am used to using a vx2100's manual focus and that worked fine for me. Is there something I can do to fix this?
Thanks... and sorry if this is a really dumb question with a simple answer, but I'm new to this camera, Mike |

I don't know this for sure but you might have to set the camera to manual (below the tape deck, at the bottom-right corner -- switch it to the middle). Give it a try, anyway.

I don't think you need to do anything other than flipping the focus switch to manual. There may very well be a problem with your camera, I would talk to the person who sold it to you.

Just a thought - but are you testing it out at the telephoto end of the zoom? That's where manual focus becomes very obvious - at the w'angle end everything seems to be in focus however far you turn that focus ring.
