Are you sure it's a legit shop?
Most ask little money for the camera and then overprice the accesoires which normally come standard with the camera... Beware for that! Do a search on resellerratings before you buy. |

$1999 is a common price for the FX1 at the 'bait and switch' scam shops.

Brent, I heard about a mistake on Sony's website that had it listed for $1999 earlier this year... a few people actually tried to purchase it, but of course it was an obvious error and Sony had to call the people and tell them the price was wrong. I don't believe it was intentional, but just a simple mistake.
Nobody in their right mind (that's legit) would sell you a camera that sells for $3200 for that price. You gotta be realistic! When I first got into video and bought my first prosumer cam, the VX2100, I got it from a "bait-and-switch" place for $1399 when B&H was selling it for $2300. Of course, the next day I had to cancel the order because a jerk from that online store called and told me that it was a bare-bones camera (without a LCD screen!) and that to get the full package I would have to pay an extra $1100 or some crap. So, after I cancelled the order, I got my first camera from B&H and have been a loyal customer since. |

I stand corrected, I got the two stores confused. You're right.
But, I don't believe Sony will sell you an FX1 for $1999, especially when their vendors are selling them for $3200... |
