2 audio channels on Z1

Hey guys quick audio question. I was filmng an event the other day with my new Z1. I was uing a wireless senn to pick up the speeches. My question is could I have picked up the speech on one channel using the wireless mic and the other channel using the internal mic (for ambient purposes)? I found that using the wireless mic I couldn’t use channel 2 for the internal on camera mic? Surely you can use the channels sepeartely?

Unfortunately, it's either XLR inputs, or internal. You can't mix the two. You can get two separate channels by having your wireless on one XLR input, and a shotgun on the other XLR (for example).

I agree that it's a shame Sony didn't allow us to mix the inputs. That would have been great...
