Any gotchas using Step-down adapters?
Hi,
I'm considering getting the Raynox DCR2020 2.2x teleconverter, with a 72->62 step down adapter. The Century 1.6x lens is quite a bit out of my price range. Would the results of using an adapter ring with the smaller lens thread be acceptable? Would vignetting be a problem? Any things to look out for when stepping down to a smaller lens thread size? Thanks, Matt |

See the following. Evidently that lens will vignette even at full telephoto zoom. Unfortunately I think the Century is the only viable option if you want decent quality. I realize the other brands are cheaper, but that doesn't help much if the quality is unacceptable....

I use a 72 > 67 mm to use my Canon C8 1.4x telephoto converter on my Z1 and all is well. I can't zoom back far but so what? I bought it to claw back the telephoto reach I lost after selling the VX2k.
