Brace for Z1
Sorry for all the dumb questions, but I just got this camera, and as an aging shooter I find it to be a bit more difficult to hand hold then sholder mounted or the old PD-150. Are any of you guys using anything that is reasonably priced that can turn this camera into a pseudo-shoulder mount or make hand held shooting alot more comfortable?

For my FX1, I've devised a DIY version from some square aluminum tubing and wood for a should brace, somewhat like a gunstock. Very simple and pretty steady. At one point months ago I posted a picture of a version, that has now been trimmed down.

Hi David,
Check out the Video Innovators S-800 Pro Shoulder Rest : http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=57910 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ughType=search I don't use it for regular shooting because my arms are longer than they should be, but found it terribly useful once when I was shooting strapped to a ladder 30 ft high and used the rest on my knee making the shoot only slightly less comfortable. Since I haven't it since, I'd be willing to give it to you at 1/2 price BH has it. (Is this kosher Boyd? If not, I apologize). |
