Z1P - Headphone Output not working
Hi,
After months of trying to work which camera to upgrade from my pd150 i went with a slightly second hand Z1p in extremely good condition. Took it out for its first shoot last night with a shotgun mic plugged into XLR input 1 filming a concert. I get there to find that im not getting any audio coming out of my headphone jack when i've got my sennheiser cans plugged in. I am definately getting audio levels coming though, however nothing is going to my cans. I then changed from the XLR input to the camera mic and got sound through the cans. I also played with audio settings but found none that were to do with my problem Am i missing something here or will the Z1 (or maybe just my Z1) not play out anything to my headphones when using external Mics? Thanks. |

Well after some more testing i figured out it was working, but the levels coming through the cans were just very low, a lot lower than my PD150 ever was. Time to try some new cans.

Also, volume control for the headphones is with all of the VCR controls that are with the LCD display. Pump up the volume.

Yup, i tired both of those suggestions, and it still seems lower than my PD150 - i guess i'll just up the dB in the audio settings.
Thanks |

Try another set of headphones--I had a similar problem recently and swore something was wrong. It ended up being the headphones, which were a bit pricey, so I was upset.
If that doesn't work, try calling Sony's tech support--Z1 is pro, and they're excellent. heath
