I'm missing something on the GAIN setting...
Hello,
I have started fiddling around with all the manual settings on my FX-1. Have had no problem changing the exposure to whatever setting I want. However, I can't seem to figure out the Gain setting. Once in manual, I can switch it thru the "HML" options. But this locks me into 0, 9, or 18. I know there may be times where I want just 6db gain, 12db gain, 14, etc. Does this cam not allow for those in-between settings? If so, can someone help by explaining how to accomplish? Thanks for helping a newbie! |

Hey Rick, I've only had my FX1 about a fortnight or so but the way I understand it is this. In the menu under the gain options you can set 3 presets to whatever you want, it just happens that the factory defaults are set to Low:0 Medium:9 and High:18
You can change these to 2,6,12 etc..or any combination you want, but you can only instantly access these 3 presets via the actual button on the side of the cam. It is annoying I must admit. Why couldn't they just have put a dial like the iris control? Ah well, great camera though, I'm still in awe at the SD picture quality and I haven't even seen it on a high def set yet! |
