Help - Exposure issue with HVR-Z1
Hi
I've been loaned a HVR-Z1 for the weekend and I'm doing as muchas I can with it in the short length of time I have it. But I'm struggling a bit with manual iris.... I've set the Auto lock mode to the middle position..... Aiming at a dark-ish scene I've opened the iris up so the scene looks OK...but then as i swing round to a brighter scene the camera appears to be closing the iris again - I would have thought that if it's in manual it should remain as i've set it - thus overexposing the brighter scene. Am I missing something? Thanx Ian |

You have to make sure that all the functions: iris, gain, shutter, are in Manual mode. You need to see their values in the viewfinder. If you can't, then press the relevant buttons until you can.

Yep, it sounds like either the gain and/or shutter speed are changing in response to your iris adjustments. Like Robin says, if you don't see them listed on the LCD then they're on auto.
