Good idea to purchase used FX-1/Z1?
I have noticed various FX-1/Z1's for sale on ebay and similar forums recently, and was wondering if it purchasing either camera used would be a good idea
I have recently found the following cameras: Sony FX-1 approx 20 hours of use Sony Z-1 approx 35 hours of recording, 21 hours of playback What questions should I be asking regarding purchasing used HDV cameras? Any ideas what either camera would be worth? Thank you. |

I'm selling mine because the Canon XL-H1 came out. Yes, it's a good idea to get a Sony HDV camera. The cameras are AWESOME and you will absolutely love it!

My FX1 is a couple of weeks old and I am already thinking of a second Fx or Z for B-roll or back-up. I notice that the FX1 and my Vaio glow blue when powered up. Bring on Blu-Ray Baby!

make sure you speak to your buyer
I bought all 3 of my HDV cameras used, and they perform flawlessly.
2 came with extended warranties. |

Hey, take a few minutes to look around our site; there are a lot of other interesting forums here :-) http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/index.php Careful when buying on eBay, there's another thread here about people selling supposedly new FX1's and Z1's there at ridiculously low prices; they're scams. Also, within the last week or so we've had two threads from people who bought used PD-170's on eBay and learned that they needed major repairs after they received them. Cavet Emptor. |

After weeks of hard searching in the jungle out there, I found dvinfo, joined immediately, & just bought a 2 mo old Z1 in mint condition from a member, John Inman. Great deal, flawless transaction--I have it in my hot little hands now, very excited--great guy to do business with, my highest rating. Thanks to dvinfo. Buying from a member definitely increases your chance of a satisfying deal.
