Sony HDV/1080i/PAL footage -> NTSC 1080p Pro Res...how?
Sony HDV/1080i/PAL footage -> NTSC 1080p Pro Res...how?
A client gave me two minidv tapes containing Sony HDV/1080i/PAL footage. (The camera was the Sony HDR-FX1E) I need to transcode to NTSC. I would hope I can also get 1080p to match other 1080p footage he has. If not, I'm "willing" to settle for 720p. And can I get a flavor of Pro Res or am I doomed to H264/.mov? (I ask the above because I have never worked with HDV or PAL footage let alone the combo of the two!) Any and all thoughts are appreciated. Be well. Rob Smalltalk Productions NYC |

Do a Google search for 'Pavtube Video Converter for Mac.' It costs about $35. There is a free trial version to test it out. From memory it can convert your PAL HDV footage to Apple ProRes at various frame rates to suit the NTSC market. Chris Young CYV Productions Sydney |
