Repair Recomendations
My Z1 tape mechanism has been acting up. I have been getting error code C:31:22 with greater frequency. Seems like the mechanism that turns or tensions the tape is wearing out. I'm looking for a less expensive place to send it for repair other than Sony. Anyone recommend one is Sony the best place to go?

I can't recommend Armatos in NY enough.
Armatos Service Center BTW, if you're interested I have a FX1 for sale. Serviced by Armatos of course. |

I've had several tape mechanism issues with my Z1 and send it to a local shop in Dedham, MA. I don't know if they handle mailing equipment to them, but I would guess they would. Very reliable, safe, and experts in Sony repair. Here's their website:

Thx for the suggestions. I was in such a rush I ended up sending out right away to Camcorder Repair Service - AV Repair
They replaced the entire tape mechanism and has worked great. Btw, they're located in Florida. |
