Color quality difference in NTSC vs PAL

Sorry if I am repeating something, but i don't see an answer here.

I have a MASSIVE color quality difference between NTSC and PAL formats with my Z1. When I shoot NTSC, the colors are vivid and saturated. In PAL mode, they are flat and gray.

I've tried all of those picture profile settings, etc. but nothing seems to help.

Any suggestions? I have no idea what it might be, although for some reason I suspect a firmware issue.
