how to remove raindrop stains? which filter?
hi there
today I went shooting with my Z1 at the Brompton cemetery, and some light rain came down all of a sudden. when how I realised I have a few tiny raindrop stains on the lens. stupidly I still haven't mounted a UV filter yet :will this work? B+W 72mm Clear UV Haze Filter (010) Slim Mount at Hilton Photographic Online Store, UK how do i clean this? I tried the lens pen, but it doesn't work. I haven't tried the fiber cloth (standard photo cleaning cloth), but I am worried about damaging or scratching the lens, as I bought this Z1 mint state. any help appreciated Fed |

Just wet the cloth and rub it gently - the stains will come away easily.
Don't worry, lenses are tougher than you think! |

Don't worry about rain - it's distilled water and harmless. I'd huff on the lens and use a micro-fibre cloth to remove the slight staining.. Fitting a filter just adds to your flare worries and makes the hood even less efficient at keeping the rain off (as it's effectively shortened the distance from hood front to front element (filter).
