HDV 720P tape output on a HVR-Z1U??
Just returned from an out-of-state shoot where the camera used was a JVC GY-HD100U shooting in 720P. I had used the videographer's JVC to dub the tapes into my system, but have just discovered that one of the tapes stopped digitizing prior to end of tape. Soooo...I borrowed a friend's Sony HVR-Z1U to re-dub that tape, and I can't seem to get a video signal out of either the i-Link port, nor the component or composite ports. I have device control when on firewire, but no video signal is coming out. I'm wondering that since this camera doesn't shoot in 720P(according to the manual), that it can't output that format either. Strange that when playing the tape the video is showing on the LCD, and the OSD shows that it is 720P footage. Is there any way to get 720P recorded HDV footage out of this camera?
Thanks in advance for any pointers. Steve B |

Can you see picture on your TV via component or composite cables?
What NLE are you using? Did you re-set it to 720p capture settings?

Page 114 of your manual. It plays back but not via FW. It should play back via component. Don't know why that isn't working for you; you might have to play with the COMPONENT setting in the IN/OUT REC menu (p.73).
