My First HDV experience with the SONY FX-1

After several weeks of down converting my HDV shots, I finally had an opportunity to observe my original HDV "footage' on my son's 52" Panasonic HDTV.

My shots consisted of some wide shots of a lake scene as well as close-ups of colorful water fowl, swans, ducks and flowers.

Both my son and I were astounded by the beauty and crispness of the picture. The wide shots were full of background detail, while the close-up shots were nothing short of "WOW." The picture quality was so stunning that it surpassed my shoulder mounted 3-chip camera's picture quality which has a 19X Canon lens!

I also learned today how important it is to properly focus the camera in HDV.
Every slight deviation in focus is magnified to the extent that blur can be recognized immediately.

I observed no artifacting or problems. The picture quality is just breathtaking.
It looked as if one was looking out a window.

Pretty cool isn't it. Your next step might be to get your own HDTV.

YEP......after my daughter's wedding.

I could buy 8 Plasma's and a Partridge in a Pear Tree with the money I am spending. :-)
