Do Z1u Or Fx1 Do Time Lapse Recording???

Does anyone know if the Sony Z1U does time lapse recording???

The VX2000 does and many other lower end Sony camcorders. So why not the HDV z1U??? Sony calls it interval recording, not frame recording.

On the VX2000, you could decide whether to record every 15 frames, second, or minute in order to capture the passage of time like a setting sun, or a flower opening.

Does anyone know if the Z1U or FX1 do this in HDV mode.

I would love to do some time lapse / interval recording in HDV mode.

Thanks,

- Nicholas

But that would mean you would have to pop in maybe four or five tapes to record four or five hours and bring all that footage into the computer and then speed it up???

Am I mistaken???

Here is another idea:

Could you hook up some kind of trigger device connected to the z1U via a LANC cable where the device could be programmed to tell the Z1U video camera to record 1 second or half second every minute???

To be able to time-lapse record a setting sun or flower opening in HDV mode would be amazing.

Afraid so. The thing is not that many people need that facility and Sony obviously decided it wasn't high on their list of priorities when the decided what was and wasn't on the camera.

Some people were upset that the camera didn't have a memory stick. To me that would have been a waste of space. To others it ws important.
