Matte Box for HDR-FX1

Hi Guys,
what kind of matte box will fit this camera ?? I have quite a few 4x4 glass schneider filters which was purchased for the HD10U and I would like to use them with the Sony as well .

I suspect what ever matte box you usedd with the HD1 will be fine. The one that shipped with my HD10 is usable on the XL2 and the FX1. I just had to order a step down ring to fit 72mm(They are both the same size opening thankfully) You would have had a 58mm on the one for the HD1, but that can be removed.

Hope this helps

I am unable to use my Petroff mattbox on my FX1 because the cameras microphone projects over 2 inches (55mm) out over the top of the lens. A Cokin P series hood will fit, but larger matt boxes may not.

Gentleman,

Please let me introduce myself;
Bas Ladru, from Vocas the manufacturer of the Century matteboxes.

In the states our DV matteboxes are mainly sold under the Century brand, and in the rest of the world under our own brand.

Our matteboxes do fit on the Sony HDV's!
There is one small problem, the T shaped handle of the filter frame interferes with the microphone, but this can be solved to use the frames upside down.
At the moment we are working very hard to produce a new filter frame with a shorter handle, which allows the frame to be used as normal.
These new frames will be available in the first or second week of January.
By that time we will also have a 15mm rail support available for this camera.
Please check out our website in one or two weeks.
www.vocas.com

Please do not hesitate to ask any questions about matteboxes.

Regards,

Bas Ladru
