So, would using CineFrame 30 mode result in 50% loss of resolution or only 25% like the Canon GL2?

I don't know about the resolution question as refer with the GL2, but
i was wondering about the remark from the above website: "Although the HDR-FX1 looks quite large, it weighs only 2kg (4.4 pounds). Analog component output (only), i.LINK (HDV and DV), and a LANC port are some of the connectors supported by the FX1. Although a 720p30 tape can be played and output via component analog—the 720p30 Transport Stream cannot be output by the FX1’s i.LINK port." Thats too bad, i was hoping that the signal could be exported directly to a laptop without compression. Does anyone know more on this idea? Could the output be limited by the cable or by the preprocessing? -a.
