FX1 Manual Features?
Anybody know if the FX1's manual features are all available at once (i.e. do we have control of the shutter and aperture, or is it aperture priority and shutter priority)? Is there auto-gain features or is the gain 100% manual? If everything is manual and the only options apparently missing are zebras and XLR input, I'm game for this camcorder.
How about the lens on the FX1? Is the widest f-stop (1.6) available at both the wide and tele ends of the lens? How much does the lens stop down at the telephoto side of the lens? Anyone have 1080/60i samples from the camcorder? I've seen the down-converted 720/25p that's floating around the forums. I'd like to get my hands on original, non-transcoded files if possible to see how my HD conversion software handles 3CCD HDV originated material (MPEG2 steams might give me problems). |

Can anyone tell me what the aperture is for the FX1 at full wide (I'm assuming its f/1.6) and at full telephoto? I got all the info on the above questions, except this one.

FX1 gives you full control of all features: shutter, aperture, gain, wb, everything.
Lens is f/1.6 at the wide end, f/2.8 at the telephoto end. It does have zebras, but no XLR's. I do have a few clips of 1080/60i but I'd have to sort through them and find which ones they are... |

Xander,
Run, don't walk, to my HDR-FX1 and HVR-Z1U Feature Set Comparison Chart. Pretty much everything you want to know is there. |
