Z1U Battery Charger for Japan?
I have a shoot in Japan this summer, can I use the Sony AC-VQ850 battery charger in Japan? This is the charger that's supplied with the Z1U in the US. Looks from the specs like it should work fine, I understand that Japan uses 100-volts, 50 & 60 cycles and similar wall outlet plug. Anyone have experience or problems using this battery charger in Japan?
Thanks! -- Cal |

The charger can be used anywhere on planet Earth; all you need is a plug adapter - they sell them at Wallmart for 10-20 dollars. Look for "travel adapter". Most portable electronics are nowadays made so they can be used from 100 to 250 volts. The only problem is the different plugs - adapters solve that.

It works in Japan
FYI - Just got back from Japan, the US charger for the Z1U did fine there, no problems with the voltage difference and the US style AC plug fit the Japanese wall outlets.
