can a sony Z1 playback JVC Gy 111 footage
Hi Guys, If I shoot on a JVC gy 111 and then take the tape out and put into a sony z1 for playback capture to computer will that work. The footage would be shot in 1280x720 25P or 720x576 50P.
Any ideas or experience with this out there. Thanks guys. |

Tried it and it did not work for HDV. Should work for SD which is MiniDV.

The HD part will not work as Sony only uses 1440x1080. The SD part should work fine.

Thanks guys
i gathered as much. I have a videography business and was looking at out sourcing some of the editing but hardly anyone has a jvc camera or deck to play back and capture tthe tapes that were shot on jvc gy 111.
Any ideas or maybe I have to put on hardrive for the editor. Thanks |

It's best to put it on a hard drive anyway, so that you keep the original tapes as backup. You'd spend as much time dubbing them anyway, unless of course, you are courageous enough to send the originals...
