Playback question
i have just borrowed my friends FX1.. I am trying to playback a miniDV that im told was recorded in high def in germany. I can play some other miniDV tapes from the same person in Germany that are standard def so im wondering why the high def tape doesnt just work when i put it in the camera and hit play ???
I get the error message - No output image in "VCR HDV/DV" Change format Does anyone know how to solve it ? |

Perhaps the tape was not recorded in the "HDV" format. Perhaps it was the Panasonic format. Do you know what make & model of camera it was recorded on?

IIRC, you get that message when you've set the camera for DV playback and you put an HDV tape in it. There is a separate setting for VCR mode and camera mode, check the menu.
If that doesn't fix it, my next guess would be the tape is recorded in 50i and you're trying to play it on a 60i camera. |
