FX1 and DVCAM playback
Hi All,
We were recently contacted by our wedding videographer to say that they were about to overwrite the tapes from our wedding and did we need another copy of the video. I asked if I could have it on the tapes it was recorded on (as I could edit it myself). The tech guy said that it was recorded on DVCAM tape and wouldn't be able to playback in a normal DV camera.. I've got a FX1 and was wondering if anyone else has played back DVCAM tapes in this model? I did a search and found someone who said yes..but would like at least another answer before I tell them I want the tapes instead of a DVD copy... |

In fact, it plays back on ANY Sony MiniDV-compatible camera. Just don't try it on any Canon's, 'cause it'll slow down the footage. I learned that lesson the hard way...

Yep! As the guy says. DVDCAM tapes from V1 or PD150 play back just fine on my Sony HC1 (which is not a DVCAM).
The've been really good about compatibility amongst all their cams.
