Progressive Hard Drive Recording?

Is it possible to record a 30p video & audio signal to a remote hard drive, using the component out plug on the Z1?

Or maybe a better question: the client wants the video delivered on a hard drive, 30P, with the video in the .AVI format. I have a Z1U. I am at a loss as to how I might do it in a one-pass recording. Any ideas?

Just a guess, won't DV Rack do that via a laptop?
