which Pelican case / shoot SD for news?
Hey guys, first off thank you for all your support. You are making my transition from the PD150 to the Z1 much easier.
First, I'm thinking about getting a pelican case for my z1u, on camera lights, tapes, my digital SLR, shotgun mic, wireless kit, etc. Nothing to major, but a few accessories. What model Pelican would you recommend? Second, I shoot a lot of freelance in Houston. Previously shooting with my PD150, I would shoot, dub to Beta SP and drop off at the stations. Now with HD each station is so different. When shooting news, should I stick with shooting in SD? Thanks again for all your help! Any future advice, tips, or tricks would be great! Chris |

Try a search on the forum. Cases for the Z1 have been discussed a few times. Like here:

Many have suggested the Pelican 1520 or 1610/1620 depending on how many accessories you are wanting to pack.
Another option are new hard cases from HPRC (www.hprc-usa.com) I would recommend any of the following models from HPRC: AMRE 2500 (http://hprc-usa.com/2500.htm) = size Pelican 1520 AMRE 2600 (http://hprc-usa.com/2600.htm) = size Pelican 1550 AMRE 2600W wheeled (http://hprc-usa.com/2600w.htm) = size Pelican 1560 AMRE 2700 (http://hprc-usa.com/2700.htm) = size Pelican 1600 AMRE 2700W wheeled (http://hprc-usa.com/2700w.htm) = size Pelican 1610 AMRE 2800W wheeled (http://hprc-usa.com/2800.htm) Hope that helps. But like the other poster said, you'll find millions of other good advice on the board. BTW, you find at B&H, link below... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...arch&Q=*&bhs=t Last edited by Garrett Lewis; September 17th, 2007 at 10:56 PM. Reason: add info |
