Hi Ervin -
I use the HVL20DMA, same basic light, only with the FM series batteries instead of the bigger ones. The DMA has a power meter to help fill up the space left by the shorter batteries - sorta cool. The 10/20w switching is nice, but I usually use the 20W anyway... I like it, prefer to have it mounted higher (and sometimes horiaontal orientation) than just on camera - flash bracket is helpful, provides a handle to help stabilize camera too. All sorts of options for those... Also would recommend the StoFen Omnibounce that fits this unit for diffusion - you lose some throw, but you get a softer light without the hotspot, and you don't blind the subject... well worth the $20 or so. |
