Is there any way to connect my Zoom H4 recorder to my V1 to serve as external mic

What's the advantage to connect the zoom to your v1 with an xlr connector? To record audio on the zoom there is no need to do that, you just place it anywhere you want a recording or you attach it to your camera (Without a connection to your camera ) and in both cases you have a backup audio recording.

I have the Zoom recorder and have used it to record audio from a "live audio" mixer, which I then synchronized to my video. It did an excellent job. I like the fact that I can record several hours continuously.
