Dumb question about Raynox DCR-FE180PRO Fisheye lens

I've just received a Raynox DCR-FE180PRO in the mail for my V1U and already I'm very impressed (I am sooo glad I canceled my order for the Sony WA for the VIU). As others have said, it makes the V1U a little front-heavy, but not unusably so, even handheld, and it can be used in a very flexible way.

This is probably a dumb question, but the front element is curved and proud of the housing - how on earth does one protect that from potential disaster?

Thanks
Greg
