Separate Audio levels using Input1/CH1+CH2
Does Audio input CH1+CH2 BYPASS CH2 Manual/Auto switch and Menu settings?
So far I can't set one mic (e.g. Camera mount +48V) on input1 to CH1 and register a separate level on CH2. When recording on a PD150 and other DVCam with a single mic and no mixer our SOP has been to record one channel (CH1) a few DB lower or set the other channel (CH2) to AUTO. On the PD150 this was a menu setting + adjust audio level with the button/menu dial process. On the DVCam dip switches for front/rear input + man/auto and a level pot, plus a CH1 pot under the lens. So far I can't figure out how to use one mic (e.g. Camera mount +48V) on input1 to CH1 and register a separate level on CH2. With the REC CH SELECT toggled to CH1+CH2, the CH 2 pot is disabled. The menu setting is also bypassed. In the menu AUDIO SET >XLR SET >AU MANUAL GAIN >SEPARATE Even adding a -8/-16 db pad doesn't seem to affect CH2. Am I misssing a setting? Other a Y-Cable XLR Female to Two XLR Males any Suggestions? |

Misread the post.
Is the input set for MIC or LINE? The trim only works when the input is set to MIC. Edit: On second read and after looking at the manual. You'll have to use a Y cable. Chris
