No still image capture in progressive modes
"Cannot record still images on memory stick"
This is what is says when you press the photo button while in any of the progressive modes (24p, 24pA, 30p). Kind of a deal breaker for those of us who bought this camera to shoot progressive with the added convenience of still image capture. At first I thought I had the wrong kind of memory stick. The port on the camera is labeled "Memory Stick Duo PRO" but what they intended to say was Memory stick pro duo. A lame and misleading mistake on Sonys part. I totally expected to find a new kind of memory stick. Also 1440x810 is the highest resolution you can capture. Not quite the 1920x1080 I was hoping for. Very noisy stills too. |

Once the image is scaled to 1440, then to keep 16:9 the 1080 must be reduced to 810. So we know the photo is processed after scaling.
